Yesterday I embarked on a wonderful Journey to Milwaukee with my head chief Frank Juarez. He is a local artist in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, taking on many ambitious ideas. I went a long with him to Milwaukee to help out and take notes to learn some new skills for my own terms. I am giving him my time to help him stay organized and find efficient people for his next project. His new outrageous idea is called 365 Artists 365 days. This project focuses on having a new artist (which will be local, national, and international) everyday, out of the whole new year. It's a risky idea, but he's had many contestants who are whiling to be part of the ride! I am excited to be apart of this amazing journey to further my ideas and help me learn more in the 'art world'.
I have been extremely inspired by recent trends. Patterns, mixing, and matching have been my A game. I get much of my inspirations from blogs. Pinterest is also another social place I get ideas and DIY's from.. If I like a trend, but can't afford the clothing... I take something thrifted and make it into my own design of the same product! I find it more fun to make things my own. It gives me time to make my creative sparks rumble. I am excited to start creating more pieces for others' to enjoy my work. I hope to aspire my talent and passion next year in a bigger city.
Many of my inspirations from Pinterest are simple items with elaborate little details. Here are some images that have recently inspired me for the new year and new trends to make my own and what I really am loving at the moment for the beginning of 14'.
I am obsessed with all these recent trends.
I love wearing chunky bottom sneakers with leather pants or denim harem pants. Really, my all time favorite trend so far.
I love the body jewelry trend, as well. Having chained jewels on your thigh is a gorgeous add on. Chained jewels is such a simple but sassy item to wear.
I also am a fan of the body jewelry on your chest. Simple chained hooped look are wonderful accessories for summer. Pattern socks with Birkenstock's are my weakness. I try to wear the duo whatever and where ever I can. Tie them off with a baggy tee and jeggings or skinny pants and you are comfortable and fabulous all day.
Embellished clothing is another obsession I have. The little decals on a jacket or dress make a simple outfit turn into something extraordinary. Even embellished rings and necklaces turns a whole outfit around.
Little gold trinkets have been a huge trend near the ending of 2013. I see it a lot on blogs, social media, and acquaintances. Gold trinkets are simple and chic.
Another simple trend I am loving is matching the same pattern in different colors.
I am in love with the short sleeved boy button-up's. Folding the sleeves to make it girly and casual.
Maxi dresses and jumpers are a summer essential. In winter I am a big fan of layers, so using those summer wear's into the winter with layers is a must-have all year round item. I am in love with the easy combination of adding layers to summer pieces.
Pants, pants, pants... I love the trend of zippers and extra details on pants, adds some drab into fab. Adding your own DIY's to your pants are manageable for any price!
Lacey under bralettes are gorgeous for summer. Easy to wear anywhere when it is hot!
These are the many trends I am loving for the beginning of 2014. I hope to aspire on more and find different ideas with these trends to mix and match up!
