Here are some of my favorite motivators when I am need of feeling "at ease". My number one quote I live by: "If everyone had the luxury to pursue a life of exactly what they love, we would all be ranked as visionary and brilliant... if you got to spend everyday of your life doing what you life, you can't help but be the best in the world at that. And you get to smile everyday for doing so, and you'll be working at it at most to the exclusion of personal hygiene, and your friends are knocking on your door, saying, "Don't you need a vacation?!", and you don't even know what the word "vacation" means because what you're doing is what you want to do and a vacation for that is anything but a vacation - that's the state of mind of somebody who's doing what others might call visionary and brilliant." -Neil De Grasse Tyson :On the secret of genius April 11th was a start to the rest of my career... I had my first fashion show at The Frank Juarez Gallery. It was remarkable. I spent a little over four months making eight pieces. I made four girl outfits and then four guy outfits. Each girl outfit was paired with a guys outfit as a set. It went really well; better then expected. I was there all day, and as the models kept coming I helped get them ready. People came and it was a great crowd. I was in such relief everything played out nicely.. I will never forget my first fashion show, and it's incredible how many people are supporting me along the way. The Saturdy after the show, The Frank Juarez Gallery had a reception for Dale Knaak and this mom and little girl came up to me (whom I've never met before) and the mom asked me about my show. The little girl wanted to ask questions because she was interested in fashion as well. The mom referred to me as "the fashion designer". It's so cool how things get around in my home town, but it was one of the best things so far in my life. I really can't wait to learn more about my passion and keep creating. These past couple of days I've been coming across some Coachella pictures, and I got a little inspired from the bohemian get up's. Here are some "mod" bohemian collaborations I put together. Check em' out. Might get some ideas for your next festival look. ;) A couple weeks ago I saw a post from Free People on Instagram about an "Open Call - Talent Scout Competition". Two of my friends tagged my name in a post telling me to totally go for it. I've been a lover of Free People since I first found out about the company my sophomore year in high school. When I saw the post my heart dropped. I was so excited and motivated to have a chance to show Free People I have what it takes! My dream is to pursue a clothing design job at Free People. I will work as hard as I can to achieve it. Free People is an amazing company. To me, Free People is company about being yourself and aspiring to make yourself better and achieve what you can with your intuition, and to find your natural comfort and what helps lift your spirits. I decided to asked a friend of mine, Erin Mohr (an aspiring photographer) to help me out with the "Open Call - Talent Scout Competition". First we went down by our local lake front to take some pictures. The day after we decided to take some more in a forest location. I really love how they turned out. Here is a look to my styling Free People inspired outfits. PHOTOS DONE BY : ERINMOHRPHOTOGRAPHY
